Interestingly enough, this diagram is simple, illustrative and resourceful to Electrical Engineers, Licensed Wireman and Facility Managers as it provides a basis for the Electrical Distribution Network for the entire Facility. As an Electrical Engineer it is important that the custodian is aware and understand the power flow through the network, both from the utility supply and standby power supply - generator and create maintenance schedules for servicing and maintenance of equipment in accordance with the T&T Electrical Wiring Code, specifically, the Medium Voltage Equipment - 12kV. The low voltage - 480/277V switchgear also requires maintenance which includes as priority, air-circuit breakers, transformers, UPS and equally important, checking and re-tightening terminal screws, lugs, and circuit breaker connections to manufacturer-specified inch-pounds or Newton-meters using a calibrated torque tool.

The As-Built drawing received during handover must also be validated to ensure they are not designed drawings or drafts. During the construction phase, projects are not executed exactly as planned and as such change request do occur due to sundry reasons such as unavailability of model/brand, cable size and type unavailability in the local market and different cable routes etc... It is therefore up to the Client to have an Electrical Engineer representative to confirm the as-built drawing is accurate and represents the true installation of the building.
